The Wild: Service Week 4

Each week in The Wild we learn exciting new things that God wants to teach us.  To help kids take home and apply what they are learning we want to provide parents with some of the basics that we cover each week and also a few questions you can talk through with your kids in the car or during a meal sometime this week.

This Month’s Virtue: SERVICE is lending a hand to help someone else.

The Bottom Line: What in the world are you doing that only God knows?

Memory Verse: “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” Ephesians 6:7

This Week’s Bible Story: Secret Service – Matthew 6: 1-4

Think About it Questions:

  1. Kid’s Question – What did Jesus mean about not letting the left hand know what the right hand is doing?
  2. Parent’s Question – Has anyone ever done something nice for you in secret? What?

Myanmar Project

ashes titleThis summer The Wild is raising money for a family whose home burned down this past April in Myanmar. The topics for the summer are responsibility, service, and peace. We are asking, “What in the world are you doing to take care of the world God created?” Each Sunday kids come up with ways they can help at home, in their neighborhood, and in the world. One great way for the whole family to engage is to find ways to raise money for this family in Myanmar. Here is a document that gives more information: Myanmar Project.

So far this summer we have raised over $650! What a great start to the summer! Our goal is $1500, and with everyone chipping in we can make it!
