Return to West Side Christian Church

Pumpkin Giveaway and Food Collection

October 12, 2008

Each year our preschool youth group, Friendship Circle, has a service project that allows our kids to experience kindness and generosity.

First, our kids gather together in a local neighborhood. Then we divide up into group with wagons full of pumpkins.

Then, we sneak around the neighborhood leaving pumpkins on doorsteps to spread kindness!

This year, we asked our wonderful neighbors to help us with a second part of our project! We asked our neighbors to consider leaving non-perishable food items on their porch so that we could help others in our Springfield community through the food pantry. (Local food pantires have been very low this year and have a huge need for donated items.)

We want to thank our neighbors on RALEIGH and NORWALK for giving so generously! We had wagons full of food when we were done!

Happy Fall Ya’ll! To our great neighbors, thanks for being so kind as we visited your neighborhood!
