Return to West Side Christian Church

Elementary Service Project

October 28, 2008

On Sunday afternoon, our elementary kids and their families got together to serve some people in our community by raking leaves and giving out goody bags. This was a great way for our families to work together to let people know that God cares for them! Afterwards, we had hot chocolate and ice cream sandwiches back at the church!

Thanks to all the families who participated in our service project! It’s exciting to see you serve together and put GO into action! Check back later this week, as we invited those who participated to use the comment section below to tell their story!

Hey really appreciate being added to the list for those who came out to do yard work. With all that goes on I really, really needed the help. Thank you to everyone who showed up to the Go event and who helped rake up leaves, pick up twigs and everything at my home. It was a really good day, my children got to be involved and loved it too, it’ll definitely take us a lot longer than it took us and the”crew” to get it done. But it was truly encouraging. I also appreciated the gift bags that we took around to the neighbors. I’d been wondering what to do to one introduce myself to some of my unknown neighbors, and it was truly perfect. I can’t say it enough THANK YOU…

I just want to tell all the kids and parents how proud I am of the hard work you put in on Sunday afternoon. It’s really cool to see moms, dads, and kids working together to make a difference in our community! God loves to see his children serve others. Way to go!
