This week we started a new month of learning Why should I do what God says? Because God knows what’s best for me. That’s right! We should always obey God because God knows what is best. Our story was about Esther. Before Esther was a queen, she lived with her uncle. Although she was scared when she was first sent to be queen, she knew God’s plan was best and that He would watch over her! Queen Esther did great things because she trusted in God’s plan for her life.

To help us remember our story, we played dress up with queen and king costumes, we made pretty Esther pictures that we colored with make-up and we had a fancy feast! We loved drinking out of our special queenly goblets!

Parents, this week YOU have homework! Spend the week catching your child obeying God and point it out to your child right then! For example, when your child shares with a sibling say, “Good Job sharing! You obeyed God by showing love to your sister. And God’s way is best!” Children need to be “caught” doing what’s right and they need to be encouraged by their parents. Try to use this week to focus on being an encourager for your child this week.
