The Men’s Ministry is hosting a Father-Daughter Banquet: “An Enchanted Evening” on February 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at LSCA.   It’ll be a great chance to steal some intentional time with your daughter(s) and have a fun and memorable daddy-daughter date.   All dads with daughters ages 5 and older are invited to attend. We’ll have a catered meal and interactive activities for dads and daughters to share in.  Cost is $20/family.  Sign up at the table in the concourse or by contacting the church office at 793-2800.

Parents are challenged to pray daily with and for their children, teach them about God in their home, and participate faithfully in Christ’s Church. In turn, the church promises to support the parents and provide spiritual guidance for the family .

There are four steps in the Family Dedication Experience.

  • Family Dedication Class: Tuesday,January 3, 6:30-8:00 p.m. (required)
  • Bringing Up a Blessing Workbook: Worked on at home by the parents (required)
  • Family Dedication Celebration: Saturday, January 21, 10:00-11:30 a.m
  • Family Dedication: Sunday, January 22

 Our Family Dedication Experience is held annually and is traditionally for families with children 24 months or younger.  Contact the church office if  you have recently adopted a child and would like to know if this event is appropriate for your family.  The deadline for registration is Monday, January2.

Parents must be members of West Side Christian Church to participate in the Family Dedication Experience.

After VBX is over, one of the most frequenly asked questionsis “where can I get a copy of that great music???” The quick answer is that we compile each year’s music from some of our favorite kids worship CDs as well as a few songs providedby our VBX curriculum.

Wehope every family will continue to worship together at home all year long- so here are some resources you might want to pick up:

Group’s Pandamania CD
During VBX, we used the theme song Wild About Us, God is Listening, Sing, Sing, Sing and He Knows My Name

Have You Heard
This CD is full of songs we know your kids will love. Get Up Stand Up is the song we used during our beach ball fun.

With Me Everyday
This CD was created for preschoolers, but we used the song You’re Amazing with all of our kids.

AmberSky Records
This is another great online resource for kids worship music. Most of the music that we use in ClubHouse for preschoolers, comes from this site including Oh He Loves Me and our Bible rap song, R to the B.

We learned that God Made You! (Thank You God!) The story of creation tells us that God made everything that we see, smell, hear and feel…but of everything that God made, we are his favorite creation.

PANDAMANIA: July 17-22 6:00-8:30 p.m.

For our kids, summer time means one thing: VBX! Mark your calendars for this “gotta-be-here eXperience” for kids.

  • VBX is Sunday, July 17 - Friday, July 22, 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
  • Children age 4 through grade 5 are invited to sign up for this adventure!
  • Online Registration begins June 1.

Parents with children who are 4 years old through Kindergarten should note that those classes have limited openings so be sure to register early!

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER: Adults can join the adventure too! 300 volunteers are needed to help make our week a success. Volunteers who want to build relationships would be great Panda Posse leaders helping kids connect their experiences at VBX with their own lives. Volunteers who love to serve on a team that specialize in snacks, crafts, games or Bible story telling would make great Station Leaders helping kids accomplish their mission as they stop at their station. Volunteers are also needed to help in our nursery, coordinate dinners, decorate the building, prepare materials in advance, donate snacks and much more.
