Spring Play Days for Preschoolers

A short Spring Play Day session has been planned (only 4 weeks) at a discounted price of $10.00. As always, we’ll provide all the supplies & the snacks. All play days for preschoolers & their parent(s) are on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m.

Play Days give kids an opportunity to make friends in a relaxed environment while parents connect with other parents.

You must register in advance to participate. Each play day session is limited to 20 kids. Email Jessica at JessicaS@wschurch.org to register.

Family Night Live: Values

On Sunday, April 15th the second edition of Family Night Live, a new resource developed by West Side’s Family Ministry team will be released. Each FNL experience is designed to provide families with an opportunity to have fun and talk about how you can grow together. This edition focuses on helping your family identify and live out your values through a few fun activities. The cost is $3 but we think it’ll be well worth your investment. It comes with a DVD, supplies and tons of great memories!

Stop by our table in the concourse on 4/15 or 4/22 to get yours. If you miss getting a copy then, you can always ask a family ministry team member and we can get you one. Once you have yours, set aside a couple of hours with your family to try it. Afterward make sure you tell us about your experience. Submit your story online by May 20th (www.wschurch.org/FNL) for a chance to win a great prize for your family!

The Men’s Ministry is hosting a Father-Daughter Banquet: “An Enchanted Evening” on February 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at LSCA. It’ll be a great chance to steal some intentional time with your daughter(s) and have a fun and memorable daddy-daughter date. All dads with daughters ages 5 and older are invited to attend. We’ll have a catered meal and interactive activities for dads and daughters to share in. Cost is $20/family. Sign up at the table in the concourse or by contacting the church office at 793-2800.

Family Dedication Experience 2012

The Family Dedication Experience offers parents of infants and young children a formal and public opportunity to affirm their faith in Jesus Christ while promising to model and convey it to their children. Parents are challenged to pray daily with and for their children, teach them about God in their home, and participate faithfully in Christ’s Church. In turn, the church promises to support the parents and provide spiritual guidance for the family .

There are four steps in the Family Dedication Experience.

Family Dedication Class: Tuesday,January 3, 6:30-8:00 p.m. (required)
Bringing Up a Blessing Workbook: Worked on at home by the parents (required)
Family Dedication Celebration: Saturday, January 21, 10:00-11:30 a.m
Family Dedication: Sunday, January 22

Our Family Dedication Experience is held annually and is traditionally for families with children 24 months or younger. Contact the church office if you have recently adopted a child and would like to know if this event is appropriate for your family. The deadline for registration is Monday, January2.

Parents must be members of West Side Christian Church to participate in the Family Dedication Experience.

Pumpkin Olympics

Hey 3-5^th graders, join us at our first ever Pumpkin Olympics!! Bring a friend and compete for the gold! Dress up in your favorite costume to see who will win the prize of best costume! Tons of snacks will be provided. It is going to be an awesome time!

Play Days are a great opportunity for moms/dads to hang out with otherparents while their kids engage in play activities. This Thursday, we’ll be meeting at Chuck E Cheese at 10:30 a.m. Come out for some play time. We’ll provide the tokens.

This Friday, we’ll meet at the mall at 10:00 a.m. to have some fun in their play area. Everyone is welcome!

Moms can chat and get to know eachother while the kids play. If you are new to West Side, ask for Miss Jessica, and I’ll make sure you get connected. I’ll also be taking some beverage orders and bring coffee from Gloria Jeans or sodas from the Cookie Factory as a special treat for all the moms.

If you have a friend who doesn’t attend West Side, please invite them too!

Prechool Play Day

This Thursday, January 28th,kids and parents are invitied to come hang out at Chuck E Cheese at 10:30 a.m. I’ll bring a bucket of tokens so the kids can play while the moms & dads can talk and hang out. Feel free to invite your friends to come and hang out too. It’s a great opportunitity for stay at home parents to connect with a few other people.

Also, please note that we changed the Valentine Cookie Making Day to Friday, Feb. 12th at 10:00 a.m.. Come let your kids make a mess in our kitchen- instead of yours and take home some Valentine cookies to share with family and friends.

Winter Play Dates

With this cold weather, are your kids bouncing off the walls at home yet? We have three upcoming play days scheduled so that your kids can play with other kids while you get to have some grown-up talk with other moms and dads. Even if you have an infant who might be too young to play, you are welcome to join us for the grown-up chit chat.

Thurs. Jan. 28^th, 10:30 a.m., Chuck E Cheese we’ll provide some tokens so the kids can play
Friday. Feb. 12^th, 10 a.m.,Centennial Hallat WSCC, Valentinecookie making. We’ll provide all the supplies, you can take home the finished product!
