This morning we learned a story about when Jesus was a little boy. Did you know that Jesus got lost? His parents didn’t know where He was! When His parents finally found Him, He was at God’s House. Makes sense, right? Jesus was obeying God by spending time with Him. Our big question this month is: How can I love God? I can love God like Jesus did!
Parents, at home this week, track down this story in your child’s Bible. It’s found in Luke 2: 41-50. Point out that Jesus’ mommy and daddy looked and looked for Him because they loved Him so much. Play a game of hide-n seek in the house. When you find your child, give them a big hug and say, “I love you and God loves you too.” Play the game a few more times. Always repeating, “I love you an God loves you too.” It’s important to repeat these key Bible truths to your child so that they can be hidden deep in their hearts.
Be sure to practice your memory verse too. “Love (cross hands over your heart) God (point up) with all your heart (draw a heart over your heart). Matthew 22:37 (hold hands open like a Bible.)

Today our Count Me In word was GROUP! The people on our poster remind us that God gives us our friends at church that we can talk to every week. We learned about the early church and how God’s followers lived as a family (Acts 2:42-47, 4:32-35, 5:12-16).
KEY QUESTION: Are you ready to Gather, Group, Give and Go?
ANSWER: COUNT ME IN!
After we made a cool friend mural, we headed to GreenHouse to hear our Bible story and worship God. Our new songs are so much fun to sing and we know it makes God happy when we praise him.

We dance as we sing praises to God!
Then, when we get back to our class we have a special time called Talk Time. This is where we GROUP with our friends to talk about our story and about how it applies to us! Each child has an opportunity to share. This morning our question was, “Can you name one of your friends?” Then we prayed and thanked God for our friends. This special time is our opportunity to GROUP just the way God wants us to!

Our Talk Time- how preschoolers live out the idea of GROUP

We take turns listening and talking.
Afterwards, we had some yummy “friend” cookies and played another game.
Preschoolers need friendships just like adults do. Being a part of church every week can really strengthen the bonds our kids form. We hope that all of our parents will make Sunday morning a priority in their family schedule!
PARENT HELP: This week before bedtime pull out a pencil and paper. Create a list with your child of some of the friends that God has given them. Each night pray for all the friends on the list and thank God for giving us our friends!
