Feed 500: Delivery Day

Saturday was delivery day for our Feed 500 project. Families came to the church, received a few simple instructions, loaded up their food baskets and headed out to deliver them to families in need this Christmas. Here are some pics of this really exciting day!

We want to thank all those who helped make Feed 500 a success. A special thanks to the preschoolers for bringing lots of hot cocoa and to the elementary kids for bringing in peanut butter and jelly!

A Note from Jessica:

My mom and I delivered food baskets to 9 families on Saturday. Being able to meet some of the families who received the food baskets was an honor and a pleasure. We delivered to some families who had very little in material items, and other families who are simply having a difficult time right now. But all the families were grateful for this blessing and it was such an honor to be able to bring them food and a word of encouragement. Itis a gift to be able to serve Jesusin this way. Please continue to pray for all the families in our community who need to know God’s love for them this Christmas.

PB & J Challenge

This Sunday our elementary kids came from behind with the boys bringing in 281 jars of peanut butter and the girls bringing in 240 jars of jelly.Because neither group made their goal of 500 jars, we will not be having a party on December 12th. HOWEVER, we are very proud of the big effort our kids made. Because the boys were the leaders in the challenge, we will have a special treat for them in Powerhouse next Sunday December 14th!

Great job to everyone! If you still would like to bring in jars of peanut butter or grapejelly, feel free to bring them to the church office by Wednesday December 10th!

The PB & J Challenge

The elementary age boys are still in the lead with 92 jars of peanut butter and the elementary girls are only a little behind with 85 jars of grape jelly! However, everyone is far short of our goal of 500 jars! A special party is planned for December 12th….but we are worried neither group will make their goal and be able to attend! This Sunday is the final Sunday to bring in jars! Get moving!

Project Cocoa for kids! Total: 87

Our preschool kids are collecting 500 boxes of hot cocoa to put into the Feed 500 boxes! We only have 87 boxes, so we have a long way to go…..with only 1 week to collect! You can drop them off early during the week at the church office, or wait until Sunday! Encourage your child to be a part of the experience, by paying for the hot cocoa from their own money.
