Sunday morning we learned a great fishing story! Simon Peter was fishing all day, and wasn’t catching anything. But when Jesus stepped in to help, his nets were so full of fish that they broke! Is anything too hard for Jesus? Jesus can do anything!!!
It’s a great to have a friend who can do anything. We can for Jesus’ help when we are faced with something hard too. To hep us remember our story, we played a fishing game (and got a little wet)and made colorful fish.
Parents: kids are faced with lots of hard things like riding a bike, cleaning up their room, tying their shoes, and remembering to brush their teeth. When kids are faced with hard things they often get a case of “the whinies.” When this happens, remind them that they have a friend who can do anything! Jesus! Stop right in that moment, and pray with your child that God will help them with whatever they are working on. Teaching your child to turn to God during difficult times is a great lesson to hide in their heart.
Our Bible memory verse this month is “With God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Our preschoolers are continuing to learn- Why should we do what God says? Because God knows what’s best for me. This week we learned about Jonah. God told Jonah to go to Ninevah but Jonah disobeyed God. He got on a boat and tried to hide from God. After God sent a storm, the men on the boat threw Jonah overboard. But God didn’t want Jonah to drown, so he senta BIG fish to swallow Jonah. Next week, we’ll find out what happened next.
To help us remember our story, we had a lot of fishy fun! We made fish pictures, ate yummy fish shaped cookies, and we played with boats and fish in some water.
Parents, this week we talked about a really fun story in the Bible. Kids love the story of Jonah. This week, get out some blankets and use some furniture to make a fort with your kids. Pretend the fort is a BIG fish. Crawl inside and read the story of Jonah from a children’s Bible. Talk about what it might have been like for Jonah inside the BIG fish.
The kids are really getting to know this month’s memory verse. Be sure to practice it at home too. “God’s (point up) way (spread hands in front of self) is perfect (2 thumbs up).” Psalms 18:30 (hold hands in front of self like a book)

This month we’ve been learning what it means to be Jesus’ friend. One thing we know for sure is “Who loves me?” Jesus Loves Me!
Memory Verse: “Love eachother as I have loved you.” John 15:12
In our story today, Jesus’s friends went fishing but they weren’t catching any fish. (Luke 5:1-11) Just when they wanted to give up, Jesus told them to try one more time. This time their nets became full of fish! So full, the nets broke! When Jesus helps us do something, he helps us win big!!!!
To help us remember our story today, we made fun colorful fish, and caught fish using little nets.

We also sang our funny song Yabba Dabba again and Jesus Loves Everyone. In our rooms, we kept praising God, by playing music on pots and pans.

Parents, emphasize the point of our lesson by taking on tasks this week with God’s help. For example, if your child has a hard time brushing their teeth, stop with your child and pray that God will help them. Let your child see you model this concept too. When you find something that’s hard for you, stop and ask God for help outloud. It’s important for your child to know that Jesus sees them, loves them, and wants to help them.

Who made everything? God made everything!!!
We are still learning about creation! This week we learned about day 5: God made fish and birds. Wehad a lot of fun in our classrooms and in GreenHouse!
In our rooms, we played a fishing game, and got to catch fish with our Bible verse on it.

We also made a bird and gave it soft, fluffy feathers, played a matching game and swam around the room like fish!
During GreenHouse, we reviewed what we’ve learned so far by playing our game. Our kids are really smart!

Remember our memory verse: “God (point up) created (pat hands together as if forming a ball) the heavens (spread hands out above head) and the earth (circle hands together).” Genesis 1:1 (hold hands out in front of body like your holding a book)
PARENTS: Now that the weather has turned cold, take your kids on an inside tripto a local pet store. Look at the aquariums full of fish and the birds in their cages. Try to name all the colors you see on these beautifulanimals God made.Be sure to thank God formaking birds and fish on day 5!
