Today was our last week asking the question, How do I know what to do? God will teach me. This month we’ve learned that God will teach us through his Word the Bible. We’ve had a great time worshipping God by singing a fun song about the Bible!

Today we learned about a man who was throwing a party. He invited lots of people to come but some of them said “no.” That made the man sad. Heaven is like a big party! God has invited us all to be with Him in heaven someday, but it’s up to each of us to decide to “yes” or “no” to his invitation.
To help us remember our story, we threw a party! Parties are so much fun!

Parents, when your child is a little older, we hope that they will make a decision to say YES to God and be baptized. Although those decisions may still be years away, these early years are important for laying the foundation for that decision. Right now, be sure to read a children’s Bibledaily with your child and play worship music that reinforces key Biblical truths. And don’t forget to pray with your child and FOR your child everyday.

We’ll be meeting at Rotary Park on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. for a Summer Play Day. Bring a picnic lunch if you want to. We’ll be providing a cooler of drinks.
Never Been? No Problem! Just show up! The kids play while the parents chat. Miss Jessica will be there so that she can get to know the parents and kids at West Side even better. If you are new to West Side, this is an opportunity to get to know other families at West Side and make your first connections here.
DO invite a friend! DON’T forget your sunscreen! See you there.

We are still learning, How do I know what to do? God will teach me. We learned that in God’s Word he teaches us to obey our mom and dad. When we obey, we have a happy heart.
To help us remember what we learned, we made pictures that named our favorite things to so with our moms and dads and ate happy heart cookies.

Parents, play a fun game patterned after Simon says, but change it to “mommy says” or “daddy says.” Givecommands like, “mommy says, jump up and down 3 times.” To make the game more fun for your child, let them be mommy or daddy and give the commands too. After playing the game, remind your child that the Bible says that obeying your mommy and daddy gives you a happy heart.
Be sure to practice the memory verse too. “I (point up) will show you (extend hands out) the way (put hand above your eyes and look around) you should go.” (walk in place) Psalm 32:8 (hold hands like an open book)

Today we learned that King Solomon wanted a place where the people could worship God. All the people came together to build the temple. It was a hard job but God showed Solomon what he needed to do. Key Question: How do I know what to do? Bible Point: God will teach me.
To help us remember our story we dressed up like kings and queens, made reward charts, stacked our cracker sticks to build a templeand made temple pictures. It was a fun morning full of surprises.

Our memory verse is a little tricky, so be sure to practice it at home, too. “I (point up, because God is saying it) will show you (hold hands out) the way (put hand over eyes and look around) you should go.” (walk in place) Psalms 32:8 (hold hands out and openlike a Bible)
Parents, this month weare learningabout following instructions. Set aside time to perform a task following instructions this week. You can follow a receipe to make a special treat, follow a map to find your way to a surprise destinationor build something from legos following the step by step instructions provided. One of these activities will provide you with a teachable momentso that you cantalk with your child about WHY it is important to follow instructions. Remind your child that God has provided us with instructions in his Word, the Bible.

VBX registration has begun! You can register your child age 3 (must be potty trained*) through completed 5th grade at www.wschurch.org/vbx. If you don’t have internet access at home, feel free to stop by the VBX table in the concourse this Sunday and we will help you register online.
In order to provide safe rooms for our kids, we have limited the class size in our preschool and kindergarten area. If you would like to ensure your child a placemet for VBX, please register as soon as possible.
*If your child is age 3 or above, but not potty trained, they can participate in VBX as long as a parent accompanies them throughout the evening. A VBX 2009 volunteer form must be completed by the parent prior to the start of VBX.
VBX SHIRTS are available beginning this Sunday in the concourse. Shirts are $7. Less shirts were ordered this year, so if you want one, stop by soon to pick it up!
