I hope that one of your goals in the coming yearis to give your childwhat they need to grow a deeper faith and a stronger connection to Jesus.
One of the best ways to help your child grow spiritually is to connect your child with their church family through consistent attendance at church. This will allow your child to benefit from teaching and relationship building.
In the preschool area, we work on a key biblical truth each month that is revealed through a question and answer. The keytruth is repeated every week along with a memory verse. For January our Key Question is: Who loves you? Bottom Line: Jesus loves me. Our memory verse is “Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12. We tell a Bible story each week that reinforcesthe bottom line.
Because we believe that the greatest influencers in a child’s spiritual life is their parents, we seek to keep parents connected and equipped to talk about what we are learning at church with their children at home. We hope parents will check the blog weekly to see what their children learned about on Sunday morning and use the parent help to continue the lesson at home.

Today we started a new set of stories all about Jesus. Our first story was about Jesus and the children found in our Bibles in Luke 18:15-17. In our story Jesus called children (just like us) over to be with Him. Those children were loud and silly and noisy (just like us) and he loved them!
To help us remember our story, we made puppets that look like us, made a friendship bracelet and played a few fun games like dance, dance, freeze! It’s fun to be silly!
During GreenHouse we had some fun new music. One of the songs was called Yabba Dabba and the other one was Jesus Loves Everyone! We had so much fun giving praise to God.
Our memory verse this month is something that Jesus said, “Love (cross hands over your heart) each other (open hands out) as I (point up) have loved you (wrap arms around self in a hug). John 15:12 (open hands like a book)
Parents, today we learned that Jesus loves us very much. Children need to hear that they are loved. This week look for extra opportunities to tell your child you love them. Then add, “Who else loves you? Yes, Jesus loves you!”Seek to create an environment in your home where saying I love you happens a lot!
This week in PowerHouse we turned our attention to a simple message in loving our neighbor from Luke 10:27.Our lesson of The Good Samaritan reminds us of God’s second greatest commandment, which is to “love your neighbor as yourself.”The kids were given the task of listening for the phrase “love your neighbor” – to which they would respond – “Luke 10:27″.And when they heard someone say “Luke 10:27″- they were to respond with “love your neighbor.”What a sharp bunch of kids we have!!!Each 2nd – 5th grade small group also had the job of putting together and presenting a skit to share with the large group.They did a FANTASTIC job representing ways in which we can “love our neighbor as ourselves.”Great work, guys!
