Diaper Drive

This week West Side has been talking about using the gifts, talents, and resources we have to serve others and honor God. Well, here’s an opportunity you might be able to easily contribute to.

The Women and Children’s Shelter of Contact Ministries is in need of diapers (sizes 4,5,6) and wet wipes. The diapers can befrom opened packages. Feel free to drop off your items at Contact Ministries or bring them to church this week and I’ll deliver them for you!

Jr. High Summer Project

We are so blessed at West Side to have a Jr. High Ministry that encourages our kids to see their potential to do great things in our world in Jesus’ name. This summer, our Jr. High students are seeking to raise $10,000 (no that’s not a typo) to provide electricity for kids in Kenya.

This Saturday, they will host agarae sale here at West Side to help get them to their goal. Come check out the treaures that have been uncovered and support this important project! Click here to find out more about the summer mission project: Just Add Power.

Faith Fusion Finale

Last night’s finale was so much fun, and a great wrap up to the week!

Thanks to the NOW team for leading worship. You did a great job all week!

Jammin to "Happy and you Know it!"

Jammin to "Happy and you Know it!"

Mr. Goff and Mr. Johnson, thanks for showing us all those cool experiments! They were great…..and kudos on NOT blowing up the building! Our video with pics from the week was really great (Thanks Mr. Goff!) We’ll be posting a lot more pics this week on our blog, so be sure to check back!

But probably the best thing that happened last night was the amazing way God used us to help someone else! Last night we took up a final offering to help Peter! And when we added it with the offering from earlier in the week, we had more than $5,000!!!!! (On a side note, the goal we set was $4,000 but themissions organization was hoping we would reach $5,000)

We filled 3 Beakers worth of balloons!!!!

Of course the night concluded with a tasty treat (thanks Mr. Sanders for the blue icee treats) and a lot of slime!

Can you see the evidence of the tasty treats devoured!

I’m sure there are pics from the sticky event. We’ll be sure to post those soon too! Thanks to Mr. Johnson, Mr. Engle, Miss Jessica and Lindsay for putting yourselves on the chopping block!

Sparki Here!

Sparki

My name is Sparki! I’ll be meeting you the 2nd night of VBS! Jesus is the Light of the World. I want kids to be like Jesus as they reach out and help other people. On Monday night, we’ll learn about how Jesus give sightto a blind man (John 9:1-41) Our Bible Point onMonday night will be JESUS GIVES US THE POWER TO HELP OTHERS! Start working on your power verse, “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them.”Romans 12:13 Maybe before VBS starts, you can think of a way that you can help our friend Peter. Read more about him on the missions page.

One more thing, I’ve got a joke for you! What did the baby light bulb say to his mommy?

“I wuv you watts and watts!”
