Christmas Eve services at West Side will be at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00. We will have children’s programming available for kids birth-5th grade for each of the services. Our rooms will open approximately 15-20 minutes prior to the service, and will close approximately 10 minutes after the close of the service. Children birth-preschool should check in at the appropriate classroom in the lower level of the education wing, and elementary age children should check in to room E205.
If you are a guest joining us on Christmas Eve, we invite you to check in at our Children’s Guest Center near the chapel. One of our greeters would be happy to help you find your way!

How do we know God loves us? God gave us Jesus!
We continuted the Christmas story today as we learned about the night Jesus was born. We learned that there was no room in the inn, so Mary and Joseph had to spend the night in the barn…and that is where Jesus was born! Can you imagine all those farm animals- the sounds they made, and the smells. But Mary took good care of Jesus, and wrapped him in a blanket and laid him on soft hay in the manger.
To help us remember our story, we made manger pictures of Jesus, took care of some baby dolls, played with farm animals, and had yummybarnyard animal cookies! We got to choose between a pink pig, a balck and white cow, or a brown horse.

Memory Verse: “God (point up) loved (cross hands over heart) the world (make a world by circling hands) so much that he gave (extend arms in front) his only Son” (make a cradle with arms for a baby). John 3:16 (hold hands like a book)
Parents: Kids are often fascinated with babies. As you talk about the night that Jesus was born, tell your child about the special day or night that THEY were born.

We’ve begun learning all about the Christmas story! Today we learned about how the angel Gabriel first told Mary that she would have a very special baby, who is God’s Son. To celebrate this, we had a baby shower in our classrooms. We hung up a special “It’s a boy!” sign and ate cupcakes with blue sprinkles. We also made a special book to help tell the story.
Our Biblequestion this month is “How do we know God loves us?” Answer: “He gave us Jesus!”
Our memory verse is “God (point up) loved (cross hands over heart) the world (use hands to make a big cirlce) so much that he gave (extend hands out) His only Son (make a cradle with arms.) John 3:16 (hold out hands to form book)
Parents, This week set out your family nativity set. Ask your child to help identify Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and the angel (if you have one). Sing Happy Birthday to baby Jesus. During Christmastime, it’s very easy for children to become “ME” focused. Help them keep their focus on Jesus by talking about Him everyday.

We are still learning about the amazing world God made! Who made everything? God made everything!
Last week we learned that on day 6, God made animals. On day 6, God also made people. The first 2 people that God made were Adam and Eve! We celebrated that God made us today! God made each of us different. He made some with blue eyes, and some with brown or green eyes. He made some of us with black hair, and some with blonde, or red, or brown! He made each of us special!
We colored people pictures to look like us.

And we made a fun snack that looked like a person out of pretzel sticks, cheese cubes and marshamallows.

We are getting really good at saying our memory verse. Keep practicing. “God made the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
Parents: This week celebrate our lesson, God made people, by pulling out photo albums and looking at the pictures with your child. Thank God for all the people you know. God made everyone of them!

Who made everything? God made everything!!!
We are still learning about creation! This week we learned about day 5: God made fish and birds. Wehad a lot of fun in our classrooms and in GreenHouse!
In our rooms, we played a fishing game, and got to catch fish with our Bible verse on it.

We also made a bird and gave it soft, fluffy feathers, played a matching game and swam around the room like fish!
During GreenHouse, we reviewed what we’ve learned so far by playing our game. Our kids are really smart!

Remember our memory verse: “God (point up) created (pat hands together as if forming a ball) the heavens (spread hands out above head) and the earth (circle hands together).” Genesis 1:1 (hold hands out in front of body like your holding a book)
PARENTS: Now that the weather has turned cold, take your kids on an inside tripto a local pet store. Look at the aquariums full of fish and the birds in their cages. Try to name all the colors you see on these beautifulanimals God made.Be sure to thank God formaking birds and fish on day 5!
