Main Event is one of the highlights of VBX for kids and volunteers because of the time we get to spend worshipping together.
After VBX is over, one of the most frequenly asked questionsis “where can I get a copy of that great music???” The quick answer is that we compile each year’s music from some of our favorite kids worship CDs as well as a few songs providedby our VBX curriculum.
Wehope every family will continue to worship together at home all year long- so here are some resources you might want to pick up:
Group’s Pandamania CD
During VBX, we used the theme song Wild About Us, God is Listening, Sing, Sing, Sing and He Knows My Name
Have You Heard This CD is full of songs we know your kids will love. Get Up Stand Up is the song we used during our beach ball fun.
With Me Everyday This CD was created for preschoolers, but we used the song You’re Amazing with all of our kids.
AmberSky Records This is another great online resource for kids worship music. Most of the music that we use in ClubHouse for preschoolers, comes from this site including Oh He Loves Me and our Bible rap song, R to the B.
This month our preschoolers will be learning about the same thing as thegrown ups. Today we began our month by learning our key question and point:
What did Jesus say is important? 1. Love God. 2. Love Others.
We continued learning about Paul as we learned about WORSHIP. We learned that when Paul was in jail with his friend Silas, they still worshipped God. We can show love to God anytime by worshipping Him. We can worship God anywhere by singing songs to Him, dancing, clapping, reading the Bible, praying, obeying God, and all sort of other ways. To help us remember this story, we made a Praise Banner to worship God, we sang songs and played musical instruments, and we played with locks and keys.
Parents, if you aren’t worshipping God with your child at home, this is a great week to start! Remember, worship isn’t just singingsongs, it includes so much more. You can worship God daily with your preschooler by reading the Bible, praying, saying Bible memory verses together, banging on pots and pans, dancing, and so much more.Kids do love worshipping God through music. There are lots of great preschool worship CDs available. Click here for moreideas.
Be sure to practice this week’s memory verse together. “Love (cross hands over your heart) the Lord (point up) and love (cross hands over your heart) your neighbor as yourself.” (point to those around you) Matthew 22:37 & 39 (hold hands open like a Bible) View this video to see how to practice the memory verse with your child.
On Sunday we learned that David worshipped God because God always helped David. Saul tried to hurt David by sending him into battle. ButGod protected David andhelped David win the battle. Who will help me? God can help me do anything!
This week we focused on worship. To help usworship God, we made tamborinesby filling folded paperplates with bells and beads.During our talk time, weall got to answer the question, why should you praise God? We named things like, because God gave us our moms anddads, because God made us, because God always helps us.
Our kids are really doing a great job remembering this months memory verse. Be sure to practice it at home! “I (point to self) can do all things (spread arms out) through Christ.” (point up). Philippians 4:13 (open hands like a Bible)
Parents: When we only talk about God, pray to Him, or give Him worship at church, young children won’t understand that God is someone who is with them all the time. We don’t want to leave God at church or confine him toSundays. This week, I challenge you to worship God at home. Play children’s worship music, sing a simple song to God, and pray to Him. There is lots of great music available. Check out this article, for some ideas.
