West Side Kids is the children’s ministry of West Side Christian Church in Springfield, Illinois. Our children’s minsitry is dedicated to teaching children birth through 5th grade and equipping their parents to be the spiritual leaders in their home.
From infants through older elementary, we teach God’s Word so that each child can understand God’ plan for their life.
We know that kids learn best when they are having a great time. We’ll use every trick up our sleeve from animal ballons to finger paints to make their experiences at West Side the kind that leave them asking all week long….IS IT SUNDAY YET???
Our Early Childhood Ministry, for children birth-preschool, will help your child take some of their first steps with Jesus.
Even our littlest kids are eager to learn. That’s why we have interactive, Bible based lessons for all of our kids (yes, even our infants!) Our infant and toddler lesson uses music and toys to teach basic Bible truths like, God made you special and Jesus loves you.
Our preschoolers start in small groups where they participate in play activities that prepare them for the lesson. Then they all gather together in one BIG group to worship God and hear a great Bible story. Next they return to their small groups for Talk Time, a snack and more activities.
Our Elementary Ministry, for kindergarten through 5th graders, encourages kids to grow in their faith and build life-long friendships with each other.
Each week, we creatively teach God’s word helping our kids understand how it applies to their life. We want our kids not only to know God but to love Him. Kids will have opportunities to worship God in a high-energy environment and to learn key Bible truths that will strengthen their faith.
